P~ESOLUTION NO. 5295 BY: Messrs. Chinnock, Magnotto, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Usher, <br /> Brockman, Brown <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION comr~nding John E. Warner for his 27 years of devoted volunteer <br />public service as a member of the Auxiliary Police Unit of the Division of <br />Police of the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />WHF~EAS, John E. Warner joined the newly extablished Lakewood Amxiliary <br />Police Unit as one of its charter members in March 1951 and served the <br />City of L~¢ewood as a Lakewood Auxiliary Police Officer until his retirement <br />effective March 14, 1978, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, John E, Warner was promoted to the rank of Sargeant in January <br />1957, to the rank of Lieutenant in April 1961, to the rank of Captain in <br />August 1961 and to the top rank of Major in Augast 1974, and <br /> <br />W~S, his ready acceptance of responsibility and his devotion to duty, <br />as supported by his more than 7,000 volunteer hours, are evidence of his <br />desire to render outstanding service, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Major Warner's willingness to support the officers of the <br />Lakewood Police Department under all conditions and circumstances earned <br />him the respect of all Lakewood Police Officers and the members of the <br />Lakewood Auxiliary Police Unit, ~d <br /> <br />W~EAS, his meritorious service prevented injury to several police <br />officers and caused him to be recognized as "Auxiliary of the Year" in <br />1970, <br /> <br />WHEP~AS, through the service and leadership of Major John E. Warner, the <br />Lakewood A~xiliary Police Unit has achieved recognition throughout Cuyahoga <br />County, ~nd <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that such dedication to duty and 27 years <br />of devoted volunteer public service be given public cognizance and <br />recognition, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT I{ESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEW®, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That this Council extends to John E. Warner, retired ~jor <br />of the Lakewood Auxiliary Police Unit, its appreciation and that of all <br />of the citizens of this cora~un~ty for his 27 years of dedicated volunteer <br />public service to the City of Lakewood, and further lhat this Council <br />wishes him continued years of good health and prosperity. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of CoLu~cil be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to froward a certified copy of this resolution to John E. Warner, <br />1199 Ethel Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107, and that a copy o~ this resolution <br />be spread upon the minutes of this moeting. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~e~ ,~, <br /> <br /> <br />
