ITLASE SUBSIIIUIL ~01{ RESOLUTION SUBHITTED WITH DOCKET RES:OLUTION NO.: 5329 BY: Brockman, Brown, Magnotto, McBride, Wendling AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor as ex-officio Director of Public Works to enter into a contract for the purchase of a dumbwaiter to permit efficient utilization of the basement area for serving mea!ls at the Lakewood Senior Center. WHEREAS, the seating capacity for serving meals on the first floor of ~he Lakewo.od Senior Center is only 122 persons, although our Federal grant provides for serving 145 meals and we have frequent demand for all of these meals, and WHEREAS, the basement area could be used for the serving of the necessary additional meals provided that a suitable dumbwaiter is installed at the said Csn~er, and WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency in that it provides fori the immediate preservation of the public safety and we]fare and for the usual daily operation of municipal department, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section ].: That the Mayor as ex-officio Director of Public Works be andi he is hereby autherlzed and directed to enter into a contract for the installation of a dumbwaiter for the Lakewood Senior Center with the lowest andibest bidder or bidders after advertisement according to law. Section 2. Tile cost for the installation o~ the dumbwaiter shall be paid from the 1978 Community Development Block Grant Funds. Section 3- This RESOLUTION is herby declared to be an emergency measure fori [he reasons statmd in the preamble hereof add provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to Council, it Shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by ~he Mayor; o~herwise at the earliest period provided by law.
