RESOLUTION HO.: 5341 RY: Brockman, Brown, Chinnock, <br /> Magnotto, McBride, Salmon, <br /> Wendling <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTIO~ authorizing and directing the Mayor as ex-officio Director <br /> of Public Works to employ by contract the firm ef Watermation,Inc. as consulting <br /> engineers for the purpose of performing work ~equired to obtain EPA approval <br /> of our Step II Federal Water Pollution Grant. <br /> <br /> WHEP~AS, it is necessary to comply with Public Law 92-500, the Federal <br /> Water Pollution Control Law, and <br /> <br /> ~U~EREAS, the City of Lakewood has complied with the first step of Public <br /> Law 92-500 by the completion and submission of a Step I Facilities Plan, and, <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, the City of Lakewood has also submitted an application for a <br /> Step II Federal Water Pollution Control Grant, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a Step II Federal Water Pollution Control Grant will provide <br /> 75% of the funds necessary to prepare construction plans and specifications for <br /> water pollution control pro~ects proposed in the Step I Facilities Plan Study, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the firm of Watermation, Inc. prepared the City of Lakewood's <br /> Step t Facilities Plan Study and the Step II Grant Applicatio~ and is qualified <br /> to provide all necessary information required as a result of EPA reviews of our <br /> application for a Step II Federal Water Pollution Control Grant, and, <br /> <br /> WlfEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the usual daily operation of a municipal department in that it is in the interest <br />of the public service, welfare and safety it is necessary to seek approval of our <br />Federal Water Pollution Control Grant, now,therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA~EWOOD, STATk OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor as ex-officio Director of Public Works be and he <br />is hereby aqthorized and directed to employ by contract the firm of Watermation, <br />Inc.~2304 University ~venue, St. Paul, Minnesota as consulting .0ngineers for the <br />purpose of psrforming work required to obtain EPA approval of our F~derai Water <br />Pollution Control Grant application in an amount not to exceed $5,000.00. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the cost for this work bS provided by the W&stewat~r <br />Sewer Facility Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the pre~mble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption end,approval by the <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
