RESOLUTION NO. 5357 BY: McBride, Salmon, Wendling, <br /> Brockman, Brown, Chinnock, <br /> Magnotto <br /> <br />A ~RGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor as <br />ex-officio Directorof Public Works 'to advertise for bids and to <br />enter ~nto a ~)ntract with the lowest and best bidder for making <br />necessary repairs to the precipitator outlet nozzIe at the Lakewood <br />incinerator. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a portion of the outer shell of the outlet nozzle on the <br />precipitator at the Lake~)od incinerator is badly deteriorated and in <br />urgent need of repair, and <br /> <br />WHERFAS, contemned deterioration of this said nozzle shell could create <br />a hazardous Situation, and <br /> <br />WHE~S, the CityEngineer bas recon~sendc~ that repairs bemade to <br />the nozzle by adding a new metal plate shell to the outside of the <br />existing shell in the corrosion prone area, and <br /> <br />WH~F/IS, this resolution constitutes an ~nergency measure providing <br />for the im~ediate preservation of the pub]it health, safety, and welfare <br />of the workers at the I,akewood incinerator; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY ~I~E.COUNCIL OF THE CIIY OF LAKEWOCD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. ~hat the Mayor, as ex-officio Director of Public Works, <br />is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids and enter <br />into a contract with the l©west and best bidder after advertisement, <br />according to lmv, for the repair of the outer shell of the outlet <br />nozzle on the precipitator at the Inkewcmd ~nc~nerator in accordance <br />with specifications now on file in the office of the City Engxneer. <br /> <br />Section 2. The cost of said repair, estimated to be approxilm~tely <br />Ten qhousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($10,900.00), shall be paid from <br />the Incinerator Maintenance Fund. <br /> <br />Section 3. ~hat this resolution is hereby declared to be an en~rgency <br />measure for the reasons Stat©d in the preamhle hereof, and provided <br />that it receives the affJH~]ative vote of two-thirds of all m~]bers <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force inmlediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise it sha]/ take <br />effect and be fn force from and after the earliest period allowed by <br />law~ <br /> <br />Adopt ed if ~,~F_.c/ ' ~: <br /> <br /> <br />
