RESOLUTION NO. 5377 BYi:' Brockman,,Brown, Chinnock, Magnotto,iMcBride, Wendling AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood. to accept such grm~t and enter into a contract with Cuyahoga County Board of Coi~nissioners covering Supportive Social Services i~cluding H~ne Health, O~ore, Telephone Reassurance an~ Friendly Visitor Services. such grant providing partial funding for supplemental funds under Title III of the 1973 Older Americans Act, ~REAS, the CuyahogaColmty Bo~u-d of CcmnissiGners is administering a program of grants from the Federal Government, under Title III of the 1D73 Older Americans Act, whereby this City may obtain monies to provide Progrmns £or persons 60 years of age ~r older, and WI-IEREAS the City of Lakewood ig in need of fi,ancial assistance in order to maintain the present Programs for Senior Citizens, and WHEREAS this resolution constitutes an.~nerge~cy measure providing for the ~anediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that these funds can be obtained at the presen~ time: not, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CI'iY OF LAKE~OOD, STA'IE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and he is hereby authorized anddirected to enter inio a contract with the Cuyahoga County Board of Conmissioners, providing partial funding of the City's Program under Title III of the 1973 Older ~nericans Act. Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measare for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of t~vo-thirds of all members elected to Council it shall t~e effect and be in force i~mediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.
