RESOLUTION NO. 5382 <br /> <br />BY: McBride, Salmon, Wendling, <br /> Birown, Chinnock, Magnotto <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend the St. Edward High School Eagles <br />Wrestling team for its outstanding athletic achievement during the 1978-79 <br />Wrestling season, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the St. Edward High School Eagles Wrestling team is, <br />for the second consecutive year, the undisputed Class AAA State Champion, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Eagles of St. Edwards, more popularly known as the <br />"The Big Green Machine", compiled more than twice as many points as the <br />runner up team in winning their second consecutive state team title, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, eight of the nine Eagle wrestlers who qualified for the <br />State Tou'rnament placed in the top five with three wrestlers winning individual <br />championships, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by these outstanding accomplishments, the St. Edward <br />High School Eagles Wrestling team has brought due recognition and honor not <br />only to themselves but to the entire Lakewood community, which accomplishments <br />should be recognized in a proper and fitting manner; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br /> <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Lakewood City Council extends to the St. Edward <br />High School Wrestling Team its congratulations and the congratulations of <br />all the citizens of this community for its outstanding athletic achievement <br />during the 1978-79 high school wrestling season. <br /> <br /> Section 2: That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the St. Edward <br />High School Wrestling team, in care of Mr. Howard Ferguson, Head Wrestling <br />Coach, St. Edward High School, 13500 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107, <br />and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> ~res i den~ <br /> <br /> <br />
