RESOLUTION NO. 5418 <br /> <br />BY:Bnockman, Brown, Chinnock, McBrid~ <br /> McINally, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing anld directing the <br />Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, to mane application for <br />financial assistance under Title IIB& C of the Comprehensive <br />Employment and Training Act of 1973, as amended,i and to execute <br />a contract with the Cuyahoga-Parma-Geauga Employlment and Training <br />Consortium for participation in a program under the Emergency Jobs <br />and Unemployment Assistance Act of 1974. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has beenl determined by the <br />United States Department of Labor to be an eligiible program agent <br />under Title IIB& C Emergency Job Program, Comprlehensive Employment <br />and Training Act, as amended, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga-Parma-Geauga EmPlloyment and <br />Training Consortium has received funds for the Clity of Lakewood <br />for use by the City in the Emergency Job Programl, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is in <br />assistance in order to aid in the alleviation <br />the unemployed within the City, and <br /> <br />neled of financial <br />ofl the problems of <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes aU emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and for the further reason that these funds <br />must be applied for at the earliest possible timE; now,therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE C:ITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf Df the City of <br />Lakewood~ be and he is authorized and directed tb make application <br />for funds under Title IIB& C Emergency Job Program, Comprehensive <br />Employment and Training Act, as amended. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor, on behalf Of the City of <br />Lakewood, be and he is authorized and directed tO execute a contract <br />with the Cuyahoga-Parma-Geauga Employment and Training Consortium <br />for participation in the Emergency Job Program u~der the Emergency <br />Jobs and UnemplOyment Assistance Act of 1974. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
