RESOLUTION NO. 5440 BY: Salmon, Wendling, Brown, Chinnock Gallagher, Graham, McBride AN EMERGENCYRESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, to accept such g~ant and enter into a contract with Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners covering Nutrition Sez-vfi_ces and Transportation, such grant providing partial funding for supplemental funds under Title III-C of the 1973 Older Americans Act, WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Board of Conmissioners is administering a program of grants from the Federal Govermmnt, under Title III-C of the 1973 Older Americans Act, whereby this City may obtain monies to provide Programs for persons 60 years of age or older, and WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is in need of financial assistance in order to maintain the present Programs for Senior Citizens, and WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the inmediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that these funds can be obtained at the present time; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IAKEkOOD, STATE OF 0HIO: Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the Cuyahoga County Board of Conmissioners, providing partial funding of the City's Program under Title III-C of the 1973 Older Americans Act. Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.
