RESOLUr ION NO. 5452 BY:Chihnock, Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling, Brown A RESOLUTIflNextending congratulations to Edward C~ Sargent, former Superintendent of Streets of the City of Lakewood, who celebrated his 99th Birthday on January 31, 1980, WHEREAS, on January 31, 1980, Edward C. Sargent, former Superintendent of Streets o£ the City of Lakewoodand aresident o£ this coranunity since 1917, celebrated a m Dst memorable occasion, his 99th Birthday, and WHEREAS, NAr. Sargent was first enI01oyed by the City o£ Lakamvood on April 15, 1924 and with dedication and devotion served this corsmmity ~atil his retiren~nt as Superintendent of Streets on February 28, 1961, and WHEI~AS, loved and respected by all who have had the privilege to come in contact with him, Mr. Sargent returned to City Hall £or a period of time in 1964 to share his expertise with a new administration, and WHEREAS, to this day, Edward C. Sargent continues to be involved in the af£airs of his coramunity as evidenced by his active merrbership in the Lakewood Kiwanis Club, and ~iEREAS, this Council wishes to join with his f~mily and his many friends and acquaintances ~ in congratulating Edward C. Sargent on the special occasion of his 99th Birthday; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BYTH~ COUNCIL OFT HE CITY OF:~00D, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council extends to Edward C. Sargent its warmest cengratulationsand that of all of the citizensof this community on the special occasion of his 99th Birthday and wishes him continued years of health and happiness. Section 2.
