RESOLUTION NO. 5466 <br /> <br />BY: Gallagher, Graham, McBride, Salmon, <br /> Wendling~ Brown <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Bui!ding Commissioner <br />to enter in~o a contract for the demolition of a one story brick building <br />located at 17510 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, with the lowest and best <br />bidder or bidders after advertisement according to law~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this CoUncil confirmed an order an~ decision of the <br />Board of Building Standards declaring the structure located at 17510 <br />Madison Avenue, Lakewoodi Ohio, an unsafe structure pursuant to the pro- <br />visions of our Housing Code, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council pursuant to Resolution No. 5449 ordered the <br />property owner to raze or repair the structure within 45 days from the <br />date of service of the resolution and further notifiedlthe property owner <br />that if he failed to take corrective action the City, acting through the <br />Building Commissioner, would cause the structure to be:razed or repaired <br />in accordance with the decision and order of the Boardlof Building Standards <br />as confirmed by City Council. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the property owner has failed, negllected and refused to <br />take corrective action pursuant to the order and decisilon of the Board of <br />Building Standards as confirmed by City Council as of ~his date. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emengency measure providing <br />for the immedlate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal departmnet, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE It RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OM LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Building Commissioner ble and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract to demolish a one story <br />brick buildin9 located at 17510 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, with~ the <br />lowest and best bidder or bidders after advertisement alccording to law. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby dleclared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preambl~ hereof and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all mlembers elected to <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediatelly upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
