RESOLUTION NO. 5473 <br /> <br />BY: ChinnoCk, Gallagher,Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling, <br /> Brown <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor on <br />behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept a matching grant award and enter <br />into a contract with the U.S. Department of Energy for'financial assistance <br />under the Department of Energy's Institutional Buildings Program in order <br />to provide funds to provide for an engineering analysis of the municipal <br />building. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has been awarded a matching grant <br />by the U.S. Department of Energy under Public Law 95-61J9 and Title Ill <br />Energy Conservation Programs for schools and hospitals and for buildings <br />owned by units of local government and public care faciJlitles. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood would be unable:to perform an <br />engineering analysis to determine energy conversation measures without the <br />financial assistance provided for in the grant award, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure in that <br />it provides for the immediate preservation of the publiic health and welfare <br />and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LJAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The Mayor on behalf of the City ofi Lakewood be and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to accept a grant award ,and enter into a contract <br />with the U.S. Department of Energy for financial assistlance under the Department <br />of Energy's Institutlonal Buildings Program in order to provide funds to provide <br />for an engineering analysis of the municipal building. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby decflared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated'in thepreamblel hereof and provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, <br />it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon ilts adoption and approval <br />by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
