RESOLUTION NO. 5500 <br /> <br />Brown, Gallagher, Graham, <br />McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION commending the Lakewood High SchoOl Rangers football <br />team on becoming Tri-champions of the Lake Erie League for the 1980 football <br />season. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under the leadership and direction oflfirst-year head coach <br />Richard Kerschbaum and his coaching staff, the LakewoodlHigh School Rangers <br />football team demenstrated steady improvement throughout the 1980 football <br />season, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Rangers of Lakewood High School, through their dedication <br />and determination, culminated the 1980 season with a victory over a previously <br />undefeated Shaker Heights High School football team, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by virtue of its victory, the Lakewood High School Rangers <br />football team earned a share of the Lake Erie League football championship <br />with the teams of Shaker Heights High School and Cleveland Heights High <br />School, bringing to Lakewood High School its first Lake!Erie League <br />championship since 1975, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by this outstanding accomplishment, the Lakewood High School <br />Rangers football team has brought due reco9nition and honor not only to <br />themselves and to the coaching staff but to the entire Eakewood community, <br />and such accomplishment should be recognized in a proper and fitting manner; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Lakewood City Council extendslits congratulations <br />and commends the Lakewood High School Rangers footballlteam for its outstanding <br />achievement on becoming Tri-champions of the Lake Erie League for the <br />1980 football season. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and sBe is hereby authorized <br />and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Lakewood <br />High SChool football team, in care of Mr. Richard Kersc~baum, Head Football <br />Coach,,Lakewood High School, 14100 Eranklin Boulevard, kakewood, Ohio and <br />that alcopy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
