<br /> RESOLUTION N0. 5653 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION extending congratulations to Father William L. Andrews <br /> on the 40th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. <br /> WHEREAS, on February 28, 1942, Father William L. Andrews was ordained <br /> into the priesthood by Bishop Joseph Schrembs after graduation from St. Mary <br /> Major Seminary, Amherst High School and St. Joseph Grade School, and <br /> WHEREAS, on July 26, 1971 Father Andrews was appointed pastor of St. <br /> James Church, Lakewood, Ohio, after having served for seven years as pastor of <br /> Sacred Heart Church, Oberlin, Ohio, and prior thereto, St. Coleman, St. Thomas <br /> Aquinas, St. Sebastian in Akron, St. Vincent de Paul and St. John Cathedral, <br /> his first appointment, and <br /> WHEREAS, throughout the years of his service to God and His People, <br /> Father Andrews has, through his profound dedication and devotion to the <br /> spiritual needs and welfare of all people, endeared himself not only to his <br /> parishioners, but to all those who have sought his counsel, advice and <br /> assistance, and <br /> WHEREAS, the parishioners of St. James Church are not only deeply <br /> appreciative of Father Andrew's spiritual guidance but are grateful also for <br /> the extreme pride he takes in the Church and school buildings and his total <br /> acceptance of the responsibility of preserving and enhancing their beautiful <br /> house of worship, and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council wishes to join with his many parishioners and <br /> friends in extending congratulations to Father Andrews on the noteworthy <br /> occasion of his 40th anniversary as a Roman Catholic priest; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That this Council extends to Father William L. Andrews <br /> its warmest congratulations and that of all of the citizens of this community, <br /> on the 40th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood and wishes him <br /> continued years of health, happiness and service to his church. <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized <br /> and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Reverend William <br /> L.
