~r RESOLUTION N0. 5677 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling A RESOLUTION extending congratulations to the St. Edward High School wrestling team on winning an unprecedented fifth consecutive Ohio High School Class AAA Championship. WHEREAS, the St. Edward High School wrestling team climaxed its 1982 wrestling season by winning a fifth consecutive Class AAA team championship at the Ohio High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournament in Columbus, Ohio, and WHEREAS, no other Ohio high schoo] wrestling team had ever won five consecutive titles until the wrestling team of St. Edward's achieved this distinguished feat, and WHEREAS, even though the Eagles of St. Edward's had less qualifiers than second place finisher North Canton Hoover, they were able to attain this outstanding achievement by having each of their six qualifiers finish in the top three places, and WHEREAS, by such accomplishment, the St. Edward High School wrestling team has once again brought due recognition and honor not only to themselves, but to the entire Lakewood community; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That Lakewood City Council extends to the St. Edward Nigh School wrestling team its heartiest congratulations and that of all of the citizens of this community for its outstanding athletic achievement in winning an unprecedented fifth consecutive Ohio High School Class AAA Championship. Section 2.
