,V <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 5764-83 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> P1cBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor, ex-officio Director of Public <br /> Safety, to enter into a contract or contracts for the purchase of certain <br /> capital improvements and replacement of equipment for the Department of Public <br /> Safety as authorized by the 1983 Appropriation Ordinance. <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure in that it provides <br /> for th'e immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for <br /> the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, ex-officio Director of Public Safety, be and he is <br /> hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract or contracts for the <br /> following capital improvements and replacement of equipment as authorized by <br /> the T983 Appropriation Ordinance with the lowest and .best bidder or bidders <br /> after advertisement according to law: <br /> A. DIVISION OF POLICE <br /> 1. REPLACEMENT SEDANS <br /> a. Seven (7) new 4 dr. passenger sedans for .patrol use <br /> b. One (1) used vehicle for Investigative Division <br /> 2. COMMUNICATIONS <br /> a. Three (3) Mobile, UHF radios with two frequencies, installed <br /> b. Two (2) Mobile, Dual Band (UHF/VHF), multi-frequency, installed <br /> c. Three (3) Walkie-Talkie Radios with accessory equipment <br /> B. DIVISION OF FIRE <br /> 1. SERVICE TRUCK <br /> a. One (1) alarm system service truck complete with compartments <br /> and hydraulically operated ladder. <br /> 2. COMMUNICATIONS <br /> a. Replacement of the old very high frequency fire radio commun- <br /> ication system with a new ultra high frequency radio commun- <br /> ication system. <br /> 3. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING <br /> a. Bunker pants and gloves <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br /> affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br /> effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br /> otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed <br /> by law. <br /> Adopted: c1, ~d~~~S~~~C~ <br /> --pr-esi~en-~ <br /> er< <br /> <br /> Approved: ~ ~ <br /> or <br /> <br />
