RESOLUTION N0. 5780-83 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Graham, <br /> Salmon, Wendling <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Director of Public <br /> Works to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder after advertising <br /> according to law for the replacement of the telephone system at the Senior Center <br /> 16042 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, including a new telephone system for the <br /> Satellite Office at Fedor Manor. <br /> WHEREAS, at the end of 1983, due to Court decision in the AT&T antitrust <br /> lawsuit, Ohio Bell Telephone will no longer lease to the City the present phone <br /> system for the Senior Center, and <br /> WHEREAS, the present phone system at the Senior Center is antiquated <br /> no longer meets present needs and should be replaced, and <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br /> the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare and for the <br /> usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder <br /> after advertisement according to law, for the replacement of the telephone system <br /> at the Senior Center, 16024 Madison Avenue, including a new telephone system for <br /> the Satellite Office at the Fedor Manor. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br /> Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were adopted <br /> in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this <br /> Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in <br /> meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including <br /> Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br /> measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br /> the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br /> effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br /> otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed <br /> by law. <br /> Adopted: /J W nJv`W+Y,,~- `W~, <br /> PR~IDEN <br /> <br /> Approved: 9a 3 ~ ~ r <br /> <br />
