w._ a_~ <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 5806-84 BY: Chinnock, Graham, D1cBride, <br /> Salmon, Wendling <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTI-0N authorizing the Personnel Administrator to ad- <br /> vertise for bids for various health, dental and life insurances for the City of <br /> Lakewood, and enter into contract or contracts with. the lowest and best bidder <br /> or bidders. <br /> WHEREAS, the Wyatt Company has analyzed the present method utilized <br /> by the City of Lakewood for providing health, dental and life insurance to its <br /> employees, and <br /> WHEREAS, because of the increasing costs of providing fringe benefits <br /> and furthermore a comprehensive review by the Wyatt Company suggests that <br /> substantial dollar savings can be realized, and <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing <br /> for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for <br /> the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Personnel Administrator is hereby authorized and <br /> directed to utilize the Wyatt Company to assist the City with preparation of <br /> specifications for various health, life :and dental insurance packages. <br /> Section 2. That the Personnel Administrator is hereby authorized and <br /> directed to advertise for bids for various health, life and dental care <br /> packages for the City of Lakewood and to enter into a contract or contracts for <br /> same with the lowest and best bidder or bidders after advertisement according <br /> to law,.all subject to the approval of Council. <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br /> this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were <br /> adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of <br /> this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action <br /> were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements <br /> including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> Section 4. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br /> emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, <br /> it shall take effect and be in force immedately upon its adoption and approval <br /> by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the <br /> <br /> earliest period allowed by law. <br /> 1 <br /> Adopted: V~-ywv~~ <br /> ~1~9~ ~ ~c~.~., <br /> Approved: ~ ~ 1 <br /> <br />
