PLF"SE SUBSTITUTE FOR RESOLUTION <br /> 59.~ ~-85 provided with Docket <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 5932-85 BY: Brown , Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor ex-officio <br /> Director of Public Safety to advertise for bids for the purchase of up to eight <br /> (8) new motor vehicles and four (4) used motor vehicles for the pivision of <br /> Police, Department of Public Safety. <br /> WHEREAS, present motor vehicles in the Division of Police are of such <br /> age and condition as to require continual repair resulting in extended periods <br /> of time when they are not available for use because of such needed repair, with <br /> some vehicles having speedometer readings in excess of 90,000 miles, and <br /> WHEREAS, the current motor vehicles fail to provide a degree of <br /> reliability and are no longer cost efficient to maintain and should be replaced <br /> <br /> with new motor vehicles, and <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure in that it <br /> provides for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and <br /> for the usual daily operation of municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor ex-officio Director of Public Safety be <br /> and he is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the purchase <br /> of motor vehicles consisting of up to eight (8) new and four (4) used motor <br /> vehicles plus related equipment. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br /> this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were <br /> adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations <br /> of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br /> action, were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal <br /> requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> Section 3.
