RESOLUTION N0. 6027-86 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br /> Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION objecting to the issuance of new C1 and C2 <br /> liquor permits to applicant Emro Marketing Co. d/b/a Gastown Division <br /> for an establishment located at 14235 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio. <br /> WHEREAS, Emro Marketing Co. d/b/a Gastown Division has <br /> applied to the Department of Liquor Control, State of Ohio for the <br /> issuance of new C1 and C liquor permits for the premises located at <br /> 14235 Madison Avenue, Laklewood, Ohio, and <br /> WHEREAS, an investigation discloses that the place for which <br /> the permits are sought is so located with respect to the neighborhood, <br /> that substantial interferQnce with public decency, sobriety, peace, or <br /> good order would result f~eom the issuance of the permits and operation <br /> thereunder by the applicant, and <br /> WHEREAS, the nu#nber of those permits already in existence in <br /> the locality is such (that the issuance of the permits would be <br /> detrimental to and substantially interfere with the morals, safety or <br /> welfare of the public, an}3 <br /> WHEREAS, this .Council determines that the issuance of the <br /> aforementioned permits i$ contrary to the best interest of the entire <br /> community and would place additional burdens upon the facilities of <br /> the Lakewood Police Department, now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED $Y THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br /> OF OHIO, <br /> Section 1. Th}~t this Council hereby strenuously objects to <br /> the granting by the Department of Liquor Control of the State of Ohio <br /> of the application of Em o Marketing Company d/b/a Gastown Division <br /> for the issuance of newlCl and C2 liquor permits for the premises <br /> known as 14235 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, all in accordance <br /> with the provisions of.Sections 43G13.26 and 4383.292 of the Ohio <br /> Revised Code. <br /> Section 2. Th~t the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized <br /> and directed to transm t two certified copies of this Resolution, <br /> together with two copies pf a letter of objection and two copies of a <br /> letter requesting that ~he hearing be held in Cleveland, Cuyahoga <br /> County, to the Departure t of Liquor Control, State of Ohio, Permit <br /> Division, no later than F~bruary 27, 1986. <br /> Section 3. Than this Council designates the Law Department <br /> of the City of Lakewood to represent it and the City of Lakewood at <br /> any hearings before the Department of Liquor Control. <br /> Section 4.
