<br /> RESOLUTION N0. 6091-86 BY: Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION expressing the sympathy of the City Officials of the <br /> <br /> City of Lakewood, Ohio, to the family of the late Mary Bielek. <br /> WHEREAS, Mary Rose Bielek was a resident of the City of <br /> Lakewood--Halstead Avenue and the Fedor Manor--since the day of her birth on <br /> December 1, 1910, until her passing on September 5, 1986, and <br /> WHEREAS, Mary Bielek, despite the disability, obtained employment <br /> at a bookbinding company, where she was employed for 40 years; and <br /> WHEREAS, in 1972, Mary became one of the original "Charter Members" <br /> of the Lakewood Office on Aging, when she and other interested people <br /> responded to Kathleen Lawther's request to plan and open a senior center; and <br /> WHEREAS, during the years since, Mary served the Office on Aging in <br /> various capacities, and they have included serving on the original advisory <br /> board, as treasurer of the Stroke Club, on the Nutrition Site Advisory <br /> Council; the Meals on Wheels organization, and as a member of the Advocacy <br /> Committee, where she promoted senior issues; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mary accumulated over 550 volunteer hours in various <br /> capacities and received every possible award available to Office on Aging <br /> volunteers; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mary Bielek justly earned the respect, admiration and high <br /> regard of all with whom she came in contact, and her dedication and <br /> significant contributions to the evolution of the Lakewood Office on Aging <br /> will not be forgotten, now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That Lakewood City Council honors the memory of the <br /> late Mary Rose Bielek and extends its deepest sympathies to her family. <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to <br /> Mary's sisters Mrs. Ruth Baeslack, 1619 El bur Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio; and <br /> P1rs.
