RESOLUTION NO. 6125-87 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham., Salmon, Wendling A RESOLUTION to welcome Clarence D. Bolden and his family as new residents of the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, on July 18, 1977, the Council of the City of Lakewood adopted Ordinance No. 42-77 which officially created Chapter 516 of the Codified Ordinances - Fair Housing Legislation, and WHEREAS, while seeking housing within our City recently, Clarence D. Bolden, Fair Housing Enforcement Specialist with the Cuyahoga Plan of Ohio, Inc., was initially denied rental privileges to the premises of his choice, and WHEREAS, the discriminatory treatment experienced by Mr. Bolden, whether through misunderstanding or otherwise, has happily been quickly resolved in a fair and equitable manner and the Bolden family did moved into the City of Lakewood on February 1, 1987, and WHEREAS, this Council deeply regrets the happening of this unfortunate incident and wishes to assure Clarence D. Bolden and his family that this Council and all of the citizens of Lakewood warmly welcome them as residents of this community; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council, for itself and on behalf of all of the citizens of this community, warmly welcomes the Clarence D. Bolden family as new residents of the City of Lakewood and wishes for each of them much happiness, gratification and success in their new surroundings. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Mr. Clarence D. Bolden, 134341 Clifton Boulevard, Lakewood, Ohio, 44107, and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
