Please ~ stitute for Resoluti~~.r'6130-87 referred to Finance Committee 2/17/87 RESOLUTION N0. 6130-87 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, McBride, Salmon, Wendling AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Director of Public Works to establish water rates for the years beginning March 1, 1987; March 1, 1988; and March 1, 1989 and to provide for a Special Homestead exemption. WHEREAS, sufficient revenues are required to recover costs budgeted for the operation of the Water Division in 1987, 1988, and 1989, and WHEREAS, sufficient dollars are required to meet scheduled debt service costs, and WHEREAS, adequate revenue is required to provide sufficient dollars to reimburse the General Fund for advances and internal service costs, and WHEREAS, in order to offset the aforementioned increases in the water charges to the City as well as continuing general increases in cost of operation, it is necessary for the City to increase the rates charged to its consumers, and WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authorized and directed to establish water rates charged by the Lakewood Division of .Water effective March 1, 1987, as follows: (1) The minimum charge for the first 1,000 cubic feet or less of water used during each one or three month billing period shall be SIXTEEN DOLLARS AND SEVENTY FIVE CENTS ($16.75). (2) All water used in excess of 1,000 cubic feet during each one or three month billing period shall cost 167.5¢ (1.675) per one hundred cubic feet. Section 2. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authorized and directed to establish water rates charged by the Lakewood Division of Water effective March 1, 1988, as follows: (1) The minimum charge for the first 1,000 cubic feet or less of water used during each one or three month billing period shall be SEVENTEEN DOLLARS AND FIFTY NINE CENTS ($17.59). (2) All water used in excess of 1,000 cubic feet during each one or three month billing period shall cost 175.9¢ (1.759) per one hundred cubic feet. Section 3. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authorized and directed to establish water rates charged by the Lakewood Division of Water effective March 1, 1989, as follows: (1) The minimum charge for the first 1,000 cubic feet or less of water used during each one or three month billing period shall be EIGHTEEN DOLLARS AND FORTY SEVEN CENTS ($18.47). (2) All water used in excess of 1,000 cubic feet during each one or three month billing period shall cost 184.7¢ (1,847) per one hundred cubic feet.
