Please ~ stitute for <br /> Resoluti~~.r'6130-87 referred to <br /> Finance Committee 2/17/87 <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 6130-87 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, McBride, <br /> Salmon, Wendling <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Director of Public <br /> Works to establish water rates for the years beginning March 1, 1987; <br /> March 1, 1988; and March 1, 1989 and to provide for a Special Homestead <br /> exemption. <br /> WHEREAS, sufficient revenues are required to recover costs budgeted for <br /> the operation of the Water Division in 1987, 1988, and 1989, and <br /> WHEREAS, sufficient dollars are required to meet scheduled debt service <br /> costs, and <br /> WHEREAS, adequate revenue is required to provide sufficient dollars to <br /> reimburse the General Fund for advances and internal service costs, and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to offset the aforementioned increases in the water <br /> charges to the City as well as continuing general increases in cost of <br /> operation, it is necessary for the City to increase the rates charged to <br /> its consumers, and <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br /> the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to establish water rates charged by the Lakewood <br /> Division of .Water effective March 1, 1987, as follows: <br /> (1) The minimum charge for the first 1,000 cubic feet or <br /> less of water used during each one or three month <br /> billing period shall be SIXTEEN DOLLARS AND SEVENTY <br /> FIVE CENTS ($16.75). <br /> (2) All water used in excess of 1,000 cubic feet during <br /> each one or three month billing period shall cost <br /> 167.5¢ (1.675) per one hundred cubic feet. <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to establish water rates charged by the Lakewood <br /> Division of Water effective March 1, 1988, as follows: <br /> (1) The minimum charge for the first 1,000 cubic feet or <br /> less of water used during each one or three month <br /> billing period shall be SEVENTEEN DOLLARS AND FIFTY <br /> NINE CENTS ($17.59). <br /> (2) All water used in excess of 1,000 cubic feet during <br /> each one or three month billing period shall cost <br /> 175.9¢ (1.759) per one hundred cubic feet. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br /> <br /> authorized and directed to establish water rates charged by the Lakewood <br /> <br /> Division of Water effective March 1, 1989, as follows: <br /> (1) The minimum charge for the first 1,000 cubic feet or <br /> less of water used during each one or three month <br /> billing period shall be EIGHTEEN DOLLARS AND FORTY <br /> SEVEN CENTS ($18.47). <br /> (2) All water used in excess of 1,000 cubic feet during <br /> each one or three month billing period shall cost <br /> 184.7¢ (1,847) per one hundred cubic feet. <br /> <br />
