RESOLUTION No. 6169-87 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br /> Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION extending congratulations to Charline Watts on <br /> being the recipient of Lakewood's "Spirit of 87" Award in the category <br /> of "Religion and Liberty." <br /> WHEREAS, "Spirit of 87" Awards are a major recognition <br /> activity in the State of Ohio for the Bicentennial Celebration of the <br /> signing of the United States Constitution and the Northwest Ordinance, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Charline Watts has been selected by the Lakewood <br /> United States Constitution/Centennial Commission as Lakewood's "Spirit <br /> of 87" Award winner in the area of "Religion and Liberty," and <br /> WHEREAS, religion and liberty are two topics Mrs. Watts <br /> continually blends together as the director and founder of the <br /> Lakewood Christian Service Center and her involvement with the <br /> establishment of the Old World Shoppe and the Lakewood Community <br /> Thanksgiving Dinner, and <br /> WHEREAS, Mrs. Watts automatically becomes a finalist at the <br /> State level and will be vying for the State of Ohio Spirit of 87 Award <br /> to be determined at the State Fair in Columbus, Ohio, and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council wishes to join with her many friends <br /> and acquaintences in congratulating Charline Watts on being selected <br /> as the recipient of Lakewood's "Spirit of 87" Award in the category of <br /> "Religion and Liberty"; now, therefore <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br /> OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That this Council extends to Charline Watts its <br /> heartiest congratulations and that of all of the citizens of this <br /> community, on being the recipient of Lakewood's "Spirit of 87" Award <br /> in the category of "Religion and Liberty" and wishes her good luck and <br /> success as a finalist in the finals in Columbus, Ohio. <br /> Section 2.
