RESOLUTION NO. 6338-89 BY: Brown~ Chinnock, Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graham;, Wendling AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD to seek financial assistance from the State of Ohio for infrastructure improvements. WHEREAS, the citizens of Ohio passed State Issue No. 2 in November, 1987 authorizing the State of Ohio to issue bonds making funds available to political sub-divisioms for improving their infrastructure such as roads, storm and sanitary sewers, bridges and water supply systems, and WHEREAS, the State of Ohio Public Works Commission and the District of Public Works Integrating Committee are now in a position to accept applications so as to determine those eligible communities to which the State will apportion infrastructure funds; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood, Ohio has conducted a capital improvement inventory and plan detailing City capital improvement needs, in addition to a list of project priorities; and, WHEREAS, this resolution provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal Department and contributes to the public health, safety and welfare; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. The City is hereby authorized to apply to the State of Ohio through the District 1 Public Works Integrating Committee for financial assistance on various required infrastructure improvements. Section 2. That this Resolution is declared to be an emergency measure and, provided it receives an affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor, otherwise at the earliest period allowed by law.
