Board of Building Standards
Public Hearing
February 13, 1989

safety of human beings who may live there~ (i)(1)g - having
inadequate facilities for egress in case of fire~ (i)(1)J -
violation of provision of Housing Code or other ordinances of the
City. I make the motion having looked closely at the documentary
evidence provided to us before the meeting. In light of the
uncontested testimony of Hr. Ockington, and in light of the fact
that there is no eminent offer to rehabilitate the structure and
in any event should Council declare that it needs to be rehabili-
tated and such a lien be placed on the property, there's no harm
to the eventual buyer. He would have to undertake it anyway. I
also offer this motion that no matter what the possibility or
probability of rehabilitation, this house with its chimney-like
cut-out for possible arson, is an eminent danger to surrounding
homes of a very destructive fire and immediate action needs to be
taken by Council to evade eminent nuisance. We cannot wait any
more, we must provide for the safety of the city according to the
ordinances of the city."

Hs. Lisowski seconded Hr. Forte's motion.

Yeast
Nays~

Acciarri, Forte, Lisowski, Soltis, Wright
None

The public hearing adjourned at 7~45 p.m.
