Ockington then <br />responded that due to vandalism, there could be some problems. <br /> <br />Hr. Hurman asked Hr. Ockington if the property had become so <br />dilapidated, decayed, unsafe, and unsanlHar¥ that it was unfit <br />for human habitation or likely to cause sickness or disease so as <br />to work injury to the health, morals, safety or general welfare <br />of the occupants thereof. Hr. Ockington responded, yes. Hr. <br />Ockington further stated that in 1984, the Building Department <br />required that the occupants vacate the property. Hr. 0ckington <br />stated that the property was still unfit for habitation. When <br />asked by Hr. Hurman why the property was still unfiH for human <br />habitation, Hr. 0ckington stated that the plumbing fixtures had <br />all been removed. He said that plumbing stacks had been removed <br />and that there was no heat. He further stated that there were no <br />utilities to the premises. He then stated that plaster had been <br />removed and there were a number of broken windows. <br /> <br />Hr. Hurman then asked if the property had light, air and sanita- <br />tion facilities which were inadequate to protect the health and <br />moral safety or general welfare of human beings who'live or may <br />live therein? Hr. Ockington stated, yes. <br /> <br />Hr. Hurman asked Hr. Ockington if the property had inadequate <br />facilities for egress in case of fire or panic or insufficient <br />stairways, elevators, fire escapes, or other means of communica- <br />tion. Hr. Ockington responded that a rear door had been broken <br />out and that the stairs leading from the landing to the door had <br />been removed. He further stated that there was a second floor <br />door to the outside that had a staircase leading down to the <br />ground level and those stairs had been removed also. Hr. Ocking- <br />ton responded that there were still three doors out because the <br />building at one time was a rooming house~ however, it was now a <br />single family home. <br /> <br />Hr. Murman then asked Hr. Ockington if there were parts of the <br />structure which are so attached that Hhey may fall and injure the <br />occupants thereof or members of the public. Hr. Ockington re- <br />sponded, no. <br /> <br />Hr. Forte then asked Hr. Ockington if there were any interior <br />members so attached that they might fall and injure the occupants <br />thereof or members of the public. Hr. Ockington then responded <br />that there could be. He said he didn't believe so, but that <br />there could be. When questioned further by Hr. Forte, Hr. Ock- <br />ington could offer no specifics. <br /> <br />Hr. Hurman then asked Hr. 0ckington if there were any violations <br />of any provision of the housing code or other ordinances of the <br /> <br /> <br />
