RESOLUTION NO. 6396-89 BY: Brown, Chinnock, <br /> Gallagher, George, Graham. <br /> Wendling ._ <br />A RESOLUTION commending the Ohio Legislature and Lakewood <br />Hospital Board of Trustees regarding recent amendments to <br />Certificate of Need law. the <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood Hospital is an important and critical <br />part of our community providing essential services for the health and <br />welfare of our citizens, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees actively sought a revision to <br /> the Certificate of Need law which allowed the return of obstetric <br /> services to Lakewood Hospital, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the birth ofi our children in our community hospital <br /> is something in which all of Our citizens may take great pride and <br /> such medical care greatly enhances the quality of life in our <br /> community, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ohio Legislature responded to our needs and the <br /> interest of our community by enacting amendments to the Certificate of <br /> Need law which allowed the exchange of beds between Lakewood Hospital <br /> and University Hospital so that obstetric services could be returned <br /> to Lakewood Hospital; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THEiCiTY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor extend to the <br /> Lakewood Hospital Board of Trusitees and the Ohio Legislature, being <br /> the Ohio House and the Ohio Se~ate, and all of its members and staff <br /> its appreciation of their respo!nse to the needs of Lakewood Hospital <br /> and our community and the outstanding contribution to the health and <br /> welfare of our citizens by the amendment to the Certificate of Need <br /> law which allowed the returni of obstetric services to Lakewood <br /> Hospital. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution <br />to the Clerk of the Ohio House of Representatives and the Clerk of the <br />Ohio Senate and the Board of T~ustees of Lakewood Hospital, 14519 <br />Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, and that a copy of this Resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Adopted: .~ ~.,/~ <br /> <br />Approvedi~ /~/ f~'/~ <br /> <br />PRE S I DENT <br /> <br /> <br />
