Martinez, Attorney at Law <br /> <br />1583 Elmwood <br /> <br />Chairman Wright opened the public hearing at 7,05 p.m. <br />~hen made the following statement to .the audience, <br /> <br />Chairman Wright <br /> <br />Chairman's Open:Lng Remarks <br /> <br />Welcome to the Board of Building Standards. Most of you are here because <br />you are interested in a variance that has been requested from this Board. <br /> <br />An application for a variance is a'request to be permitted to do something <br />which is otherwise prohibited. The person requesting the variance is <br />seeking teller from the strict application of the law. The applicant has <br />the burden of demonstrating a good and valid reason why the law which <br />ordinarily governs everyone equally should not be applied in a particular <br />situation. <br /> <br /> <br />
