RESOLUTION NO. 6412-89 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br /> George, Graham, Wendling <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to extend appreciation of this community to Tom <br />Ohradzansky of Venture Packaging of Lakewood for outstanding <br />community spirit for donating over 25,000 red ribbons to ensure <br />the success of %he 1989 National Red Ribbon Campaign in the City <br />of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood in their ongoing effort to <br />ensure a drug free environment for the youth of the community <br />cannot attain success in this endeavor without cooperation from <br />all sectors of the community, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council recognizes the value and benefit to <br />support the Red Ribbon Campaign as a positive reinforcement <br />statement to the Citizens of Lakewood that we do have choices not <br />to abuse drugs and alcohol, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has proclaimed that the generous <br />donation of Venture Packaging of Lakewood will allow the over <br />12,000 Lakewood students, City safety forces, educators, Lakewood <br />business people and many of our residents the opportunity to make <br />a visible statement that they support a drug-free lifestyle, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has proclaimed October 22 through <br />October 29 as Lakewood Red Ribbon Week and will join thousands of <br />cities across the United States by participating in the symbolic <br />wearing of a red ribbon. The red ribbon has become the symbol to <br />reduce the demand for drugs and to reaffirm that we do have <br />choices, "My Choice...Drug Free"; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO~ <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor extends to <br />Ohradzansky and Venture Packaging its appreciation and that <br />all of the citizens of this community for their support of <br />Lakewood Red Ribbon Campaign and their outstanding <br />to the community. <br /> <br />Tom <br />of <br />the <br />contribution <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this <br />Resolution to Tom Ohradzansky, and that a copy of this Resolution <br />be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Adopted:,,~ /+/ /f/~ <br /> <br />PR~.SIDENT <br /> <br />CL~RK <br /> <br /> <br />
