RESOLUTION NO. 6416-89 <br /> <br /> BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br />GaZzana, George, Graham, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and direCting the Director <br />of Public Works to advertise for bids for the purchase of a Sewer <br />Jetting Combination Machine for the Division of Streets. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such equipment would greatly reduce the time necessary <br />to clean Lakewood's main sewer lines and allow the Sewer Unit-Division <br />of Streets to clean sewer lines on a more frequent and efficient <br />basis, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said equipment is a special item requiring a long lead <br />time for delivery after bid opening and if bids were received now and <br />funds approved in the 1990 Budget Hearings, we could be assured of a <br />firm price and of an early summer delivery of said equipment, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure in <br />that it provides for the immediate preservation of the public health <br />and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal depart- <br />ment; now, therefore; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the Sewer <br />Jetting Combination Machine for the Division of Streets. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to passage of this resolution <br />were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such <br />deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that <br />resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members elected to Council, it shall' take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon it adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it <br />shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed <br />by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~ /~/t~Z~ <br /> <br />Approved:~/~./ <br /> <br /> <br />
