RESOLUTION NO. 6421-89 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br /> Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendlil <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Edmund M. Mecklenburg for his public <br />service as an officer in the Division of Police, City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Edmund M. Mecklenburg began his career with the City of <br />Lakewood on April l, 1961, as Patrolman in the Division of Police, and he was <br />promoted to the rank of Sergeant in May, 1967; to Lieutenant in January, <br />1968; to Captain in March, 1979; and to Chief of Police on August 15 1983, <br />and ' <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his years of service with the City of Lakewood, <br />Edmund Mecklenburg was an outstanding police officer, noted for his <br />thoroughness, integrity and professionalism, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as Chief of Police, Ed Mecklenburg was a capable and <br />responsible leader; he also took an active leadership role in the Cuyahoga <br />County Police Chiefs Association as Executive Director and served on the <br />Executive Board of the Ohio Police Chiefs Association, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Lakewood Division of Police, <br />Edmund M. Mecklenburg was a loyal and dedicated employee who rendered <br />outstanding service, not only to the Department of Public Safety, but the <br />entire community as well, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the public service rendered <br />by Edmund M. Mecklenburg be given public cognizance and recognition; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council extends to Edmund M. Mecklenburg its <br />appreciation and that of all the citizens of this community for nearly 29 <br />years of public service as an officer with the Division of Police in the City <br />of Lakewood, and further that this Council wishes him continued years of <br />health, happiness and prosperity in his retirement. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to <br />Edmund M. Mecklenburg, 1324 Manor Park Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107,and that <br />a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />CLERK (.,/ <br /> <br /> <br />
