RESOLUTION NO. 6428-89 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graham A RESOLUTION commending Leonard A. Mikula for his public service as Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, Leonard A. Mikula first became associated with the City of Lakewood on June 8, 1970, and served as Assistant Finance Director and ham served as Director of Finance until November, 1979 and he was reappointed Director of Finance effective December 1, 1984, and WHEREAS, Leonard A. Mikula has won the admiration and due recognition of his colleagues throughout the United States and Canada as evidenced by his service as Treasurer of the Municipal Finance Officers Association of Northeastern Ohio, Committee Member of the Government Finance Officers Association of United States and Canada Governmental Debt and Fiscal Policy Committee in 1987, served on the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Municipal League and Regional Income Tax Agency, President of the Ohio Chapter of Municipal Treasurers Association of the United States and Canada and was elected Vice President of the Municipal Treasurers Association of United States and Canada in September, 1989, and WHEREAS, his ready acceptance of responsibility, his leadership ability, devotion to his community and desire to render outstanding service bring great credit to himself and his community, and WHEREAS, through his personal warmth and genuine interest in his chosen profession, Mr. Mlkula has won the respect and affection of his fellow City employees and all those who came in contact with him during his tenure with the City, and WHEREAS, under his leadership and direction the Finance Department has achieved an enviable record of performance and service, and WHEREAS, Leonard A. Mikula has resigned his position with the City of Lakewood effective December i, 1989 to accept employment with Society Bank; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor extend to Leonard A. Mlkula their appreciation and that of the citizens of this community for his more than 14 years of distinguished public service to the City of Lakewood and further that they wish him continued years of success, health and prosperity in his new endeavor.
