RESOLUTION NO. 6429-89 <br /> <br /> BY:Brown, iChinnock, <br />Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graha~ <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor, fOr and on behalf of the <br />City of Lakewood, to accept title to a certain 1982 Ford 20 passenger <br />van from the Lakewood Commission on Aging. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Commission On Aging, a private charitable <br />organization, which acts in an advisory capacity to the Lakewood <br />Department on Aging, has received a 1982 Ford 20 passenger van from A <br />New Day, Inc., in connection with the Commission's assumption of the <br />programs of such organization, and <br /> <br />said van <br />Fund, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Commission on Aging wishes to transfer title of <br /> to the City of Lakewood at no cost to the City's General <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Commission on Aging will remain responsible for <br />all costs associated with the operation of said vehicle, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the operation of such vehicle contributes to the <br />sevices available for transportation of our older adults, and <br />contributes to the health, safety and welfare of our citizens; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to accept title to a 1982 Ford 20 passenger van from the <br />Lakewood Commission on Aging, which was transferred to it as part of <br />the Commission's assumption of the programs and assets of A New Day, <br />Inc. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor and this Council extend our <br />thanks to the Commission On Aging on behalf of the citizens served by <br />this program for their support and assistance. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this <br />resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that <br />all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees <br />that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take <br />effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />q/Iqg <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />Approved~ ~ /.~ <br /> <br />CLERK <br /> <br /> <br />
