RESOLUTION NOc 6438-89 <br /> <br />BYe Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br /> Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendllng <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor on <br />behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept a $90,000 grant to the City <br />of Lakewood from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of <br />Litter Prevention and Recycling and to administer and budget the <br />Recycling Demonstration Program Grant funds. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, recycling of materials is the only environmentally sound <br />means to dispose of recyclables and to save our landfills for non- <br />recyclable waste products, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood City Council recognizes the importance and <br />necessity to be environmentally conscious and offer our residents the <br />opportunity to recycle, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure provid- <br />ing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare and to comply with the Recycling Demonstration Program Grant. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO= <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be <br />and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement <br />with and to budget and administer all grants received from the Ohio <br />Department of Natural Resources, Office of Litter Prevention and <br />Recycling allocated from the Litter Control Act of 1980. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution <br />were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such <br />deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted <br />in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121.22 of the <br />Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted~ ~/f/ /~ <br /> P~esiden~ ' <br /> <br />Approved, <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
