RESOLUTION NO. 6480-90 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, <br /> Gazzana, George, Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION in support o~ bringing the 1992 <br />Democratic National Convention to Cleveland; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor and his administration through the Council of <br />the City of Lakewood desires to express its support for the efforts to <br />bring the 1992 Democratic National Convention to our region; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the significant positive impact of the event upon our <br />national reputation and local economy make it worthy of our support; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Cleveland can seize upon this opportunity <br />to show the nation through the Democratic National Convention and its <br />accompanying national exposure of its rennaisance; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, also known as the Mother of <br />Presidents, has furnished the nation with eight of the 42 presidents, and <br />by right should have a voice in possibly naming the next President of the <br />United States; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to <br />to the Democratic National convention Site Selection Committee at the <br />appropriate time, and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the <br />minutes of the meeting. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions <br />of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance <br />were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such <br />deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted <br />in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance <br />with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
