RESOLUTION NO. 6481-90 BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br /> George, Roth, Smith <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Director of Public <br />Works to establish sewer rates for years beginning April 1, 1990 and April <br />1, 1991. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, sufficient revenues are required to recover costs budgeted for the <br />operation of the Wastewater Division in 1990 and 1991, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to offset the continuing general increases in cost of <br />operation, it is necessary for the City to increase the rates charged to its <br />consumers, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 902.04 of the City of Lakewood Codified Ordinances require <br />the Council set a sewer rate sufficient to receover both operating and <br />capital improvement costs for the Wastewater Division; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That it has been determined that the current sewer rate is <br />insufficient to meet requirements that the Wastewater Operating Fund remain <br />a self-supporting enterprise. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to establish sewer rates charged by the Lakewood Division of <br />Water effective April 1, 1990, as follows: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />The minimum charge for the first 1,000 cubic feet or <br />less of water used during each one or three month <br />billing period shall be NINE-DOLLARS AND SEVEN-CENTS <br />($9.07). <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />All water used in excess of 1,000 cubic feet during <br />each one or three month billing period shall cost <br />90.7¢ per one-hundred cubic feet. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to establish sewer rates charged by the Lakewood Division of <br />Water effective April 1, 1991, as follows: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />The minimum charge for the first 1,000 cubic feet or <br />less of water used during each one or three month <br />billing period shall beTEN-DOLLARS AND FIFTY-SEVEN-CENTS <br />($10.57). <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />All water used in excess of 1,000 cubic feet during <br />each one or three month billing period shall cost <br />105.7¢ per one-hundred cubic feet. <br /> <br />Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were <br />adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations <br />of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br />action were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal <br />requirements. <br /> <br /> <br />
