RESOLUTION NO. 6481-90 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Roth, Smith AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Director of Public Works to establish sewer rates for years beginning April 1, 1990 and April 1, 1991. WHEREAS, sufficient revenues are required to recover costs budgeted for the operation of the Wastewater Division in 1990 and 1991, and WHEREAS, in order to offset the continuing general increases in cost of operation, it is necessary for the City to increase the rates charged to its consumers, and WHEREAS, Section 902.04 of the City of Lakewood Codified Ordinances require the Council set a sewer rate sufficient to receover both operating and capital improvement costs for the Wastewater Division; WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That it has been determined that the current sewer rate is insufficient to meet requirements that the Wastewater Operating Fund remain a self-supporting enterprise. Section 2. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authorized and directed to establish sewer rates charged by the Lakewood Division of Water effective April 1, 1990, as follows: (1) The minimum charge for the first 1,000 cubic feet or less of water used during each one or three month billing period shall be NINE-DOLLARS AND SEVEN-CENTS ($9.07). (2) All water used in excess of 1,000 cubic feet during each one or three month billing period shall cost 90.7¢ per one-hundred cubic feet. Section 3. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authorized and directed to establish sewer rates charged by the Lakewood Division of Water effective April 1, 1991, as follows: (1) The minimum charge for the first 1,000 cubic feet or less of water used during each one or three month billing period shall beTEN-DOLLARS AND FIFTY-SEVEN-CENTS ($10.57). (2) All water used in excess of 1,000 cubic feet during each one or three month billing period shall cost 105.7¢ per one-hundred cubic feet. Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements.
