RESOLUTION NO. 6503-90 <br /> <br />BY: Gallagher, Gazzana, George, <br /> Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor <br />for and on behalf of the City of Lakewood to enter into a contract <br />with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging covering Social Services <br />and Nutrition, such contract provides partial funding for supplemental <br />funds under Title III of the 1~65 Older Americans Act. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging is <br />administering a p~ogram of grants from the Federal Goverment under <br />Title III of the 1965 Older Americans Act, whereby this City may <br />obtain monies to provide programs for persons 60 years of age or <br />older, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety <br />and welfare, and for the further reason these funds can be obtained at <br />the present time; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor for and on behalf of the City of <br />Lakewood, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging which provides <br />for partial funding of the City's program under Title III of the 1965 <br />Older American Act. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this <br />resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that <br />all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees <br />that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect a~d be in force~~ediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor, otherwis~hall~take <br />effect and be in force after the earlies~~d b/~aw. / <br /> <br />Approved: ~ ~/ /l~S <br /> <br /> <br />
