RESOLUTION NO: <br /> <br />6505-90 <br /> <br />BY: Gallagher, Gazzana, George, <br /> Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor <br />to submit an application for the purpose of acquiring funds for <br />the litter prevention and recycling program and enter into an <br />agreement with and to administer and budget Litter Prevention and <br />Recycling Grants from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, <br />Office of Litter Prevention and Recycling. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, litter is unsightly, unsanitary and creates blight- <br />ing conditions, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood City Council recognizes the existence <br />of a litter problem within the boundaries of the City of Lakewood <br />and the need to address the programs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and for the further reason that the funds are <br />available. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ohio Litter Control Act of 1980 provides, <br />through the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Litter <br />Prevention & recycling for the purpose of allocation of funds in <br />the form of grants for the purposes of supplemental local Litter <br />Prevention and Recycling Programs. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lake- <br />wood, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to submit <br />necessary applications for and enter into an agreement with and <br />to budget and administer all grants received from the Ohio <br />Department of Natural Resources, Office of Litter Prevention and <br />Recycling allocated from the Litter Control Act of 1980. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the City Council hereby endorses and <br />supports a Litter Prevention & Recycling Program for the City of <br />Lakewood and authorizes the necessary funds to implement said <br />program, if approved, as indicated in its application. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of <br />this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of ~his Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action, were~eetings <br />open to the public, in compliance w~reme~ts. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~/ /~/ /~ <br /> ( ident <br /> <br /> <br />
