RESOLUTION NO. 6507-90 BY: Bo,scia, Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graham, Roth, Smith A RESOLUTION to commend Walter A. Geist for his public service in the Department of Public Safety, Division of Building Inspection in the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, upon his retirement on June 30, 1990, Walter Geist was Building Commissioner, having completed over 19 years of public service in the Division of Building Inspection, City of Lakewood, and WHEREAS, during his tenure with the City, Walter Geist has been a loyal and dedicated employee, who rendered outstanding service not only to the Division of Building Inspection, but to the entire community as well, and WHEREAS, Walter Geist implemented the "Community Renaissance Program" by supervising the reorganization of the Building Department and bringing a high degree of professionalism to the department which has more State Certified Building, Electrical, and Plumbing Inspectors than any other city in northeast Ohio, and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper service rendered by Walter A. Geist be given and recognition; now, therefore, that the public public cognizance BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1. That the Council and the Mayor of the City of Lakewood extend to Walter A. Geist its appreciation and that of all the citizens of this community for his more than 19 years of public service as an employee in the Division of Building Inspection of the City of Lakewood, and further that this Council and Mayor wish him continued years of health, happiness and prosperity in his retirement. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to Walter A. Geist, 1535 Wayne Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107, and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. -~ Adopted: CLERK Approved:
