RESOLUTION NO: 6554-90 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, George, Graham, Roth, Smith AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor on behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept a $39,988 grant to the City of Lakewood from the Ohio Department of Natural Re- sources, Division of Litter Prevention and Recycling and to administer and budget litter prevention grant funds. WHEREAS, litter is unsightly, unsanitary and creates blight- ing conditions, and WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood's City Council recognizes the existence of litter and the need to promote, educate, and abate litter within the City, and WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and to comply with grant implementation. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lake- wood, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with and to budget and administer all grants re- ceived from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Office of Litter Prevention and Recycling allocated from the Litter Control Act of 1980. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to t. he public, in compliance with all legal requirement s. Section 3. emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in, force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.~ That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an ~ Adopted: ~/~/ /'~
