RESOLUTION NO: 6554-90 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br /> Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor <br />on behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept a $39,988 grant to <br />the City of Lakewood from the Ohio Department of Natural Re- <br />sources, Division of Litter Prevention and Recycling and to <br />administer and budget litter prevention grant funds. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, litter is unsightly, unsanitary and creates blight- <br />ing conditions, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood's City Council recognizes the <br />existence of litter and the need to promote, educate, and abate <br />litter within the City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and to comply with grant implementation. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lake- <br />wood, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into <br />an agreement with and to budget and administer all grants re- <br />ceived from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Office of <br />Litter Prevention and Recycling allocated from the Litter <br />Control Act of 1980. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage <br />of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this <br />Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and <br />any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were <br />in meetings open to t. he public, in compliance with all legal <br />requirement s. <br /> <br /> Section 3. <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof <br />and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of <br />all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in, <br />force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.~ <br /> <br />That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an ~ <br /> <br />Adopted: ~/~/ /'~ <br /> <br /> <br />
