RESOLUTION NO: 6555-90 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br /> Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor <br />on behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept a $80,346 grant to <br />the City of Lakewood from the Ohio Department of Natural Re- <br />sources, Division of Litter Prevention and Recycling and to <br />administer and budget the Recycling Demonstration Program Grant <br />funds. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, recycling of materials is the only environmentally <br />sound means to dispose of recyclables and to save our landfills <br />for non-recyclable waste products, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood City Council recognizes the importance <br />and necessity to be environmentally conscious and offer our <br />residents the opportunity to recycle, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and to comply with the Recycling Demonstra- <br />tion Program Grant. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED B~ THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lake- <br />wood, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into <br />an agreement with and to budget and administer all grants re- <br />ceived from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Office of <br />Litter Prevention and Recycling allocated from the Litter <br />Control Act of 1980. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage <br />of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this <br />Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and <br />any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were <br />in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal <br />requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof <br />and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its adoption and the Mayor. <br />Adopted: ~/¢/ /f~' ~ <br /> sident <br /> <br />Approved:~~ 2-0 / ~' ~'6) / <br /> <br /> <br />
