RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6536-90 <br /> <br /> BY: Boscia, <br />Gallagher, George, Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION honoring the tens of thousands of young <br />men and women in our armed forces, r=serves as well as regulars, <br />including Lakewood residents, who have been called to duty in the <br />Middle East; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, our forces have been required to endure <br />conditions that no amount of training could completely prepare <br />them for; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these brave men and women have answered the <br />challenge issued by preceding generations of Americans who were <br />willing to answer the call of their President when the safety and <br />liberty of America or its allies was threatened; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, we gratefully acknowledge the sacrifices made <br />and hardships endured by these young men and women in the name of <br />freedom for all, it is fitting and appropriate to honor their <br />courage especially during this, the holiday season; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in support of these valiant men and women, the <br />City of Lakewood, Ohio will continue to display the red, white <br />and blue "We Care" ribbons, as a visual reminder to the families <br />of the service people that "We Care" and support our military <br />personnel and pray for their safe return; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor of the City of Lakewood and <br />this Council extend to those families who have loved ones <br />serving in the Middle East the sincere appreciation of the <br />citizens of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is <br />hereby authorized and directed that a copy of this resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting. ~ <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
