RESOLUTIONNO:6S,12-90 BY: Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTIONS authorizing the Mayor for and on behalf of the City <br />of Lakewood to accept as a gift to the City of Lakewood, the sum of $60,000 from the Lake- <br />wood Woman's Club for the renovation of the Lakewood Park enclosed pavilion. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Woman's Club members, past and present, gave their _time freely and <br />graciously to build a city that was rich in calture and civic pride; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS this highly respected and recognized women's social and civic organization <br />dissolved their prestigious club after ?0 years of existence; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Lakewood Woman's Club has deemed that they would like to donate <br />their club treasury for the betterment of the City of Lakewood; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this fine organization's donation of $60,000, the sum of their treasury, will <br />greatly assist the City of Lakewood's planned renovation of the Lakewood Park enclosed pavil- <br />ion slated for 1991, allowing the city to combine phases I and II ofthe project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of L. akewood and the entire northeastern community has been <br />enriched by, and will sorely miss, :the proud example that this prestigious and influential civic <br />organization has set for the past ?0 years. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized for and on behalf of the city <br />of Lakewood to accept a gift from the Lakewood Woman's Club in the amount of $60,000 to <br />assist in the renovation of the Lakewood Park enclosed pavilion. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor and Council extend to the Lakewood Woman's Club their <br />sincere appreciation and thanks along with that of all the citizens of this community for their <br />most gracious gift to be used for the benefit of our commlLrlity. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the <br />reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the aff'urnative vote of two-thirds <br />of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adop-, <br />tion and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest <br />period 'allowed by law. <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
