RESOLUTION NO. 6551-91 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graham, Roth, Smith A RESOLUTION to commend Assistant Chief John S. Karliak for his public service as a member of the Division of Fire in the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, upon his retirement, effective December 31, 1990, he has completed more than 25 years of public service with the Division of Fire, City of Lakewood; and WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Lakewood Fire Department, John rose to the rank of Assistant Chief, the position he held the last 7-1/2 years; and WHEREAS, John demonstrated his commitment to the citizens of Lakewood throughout his career, most recently exemplified by the April 1988 rescue of two children at a Lake- land Avenue house fire for which he received commendation; and WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Lakewood Division of Fire, Assistant Chief Karliak has been recognized as a loyal and dedicated employee who rendered outstanding service, not only to the Department of Public Safety, but to the entire community as well; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the public service rendered by Assistant Chief John S. Karliak be given public cognizance and recognition; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1. That this Council and the Mayor of the City of Lakewood extend to Assistant Chief John S. Karliak its appreciation and that of all the citizens of this community for his more than 25 years of public service as an employee in the Division of Fire of the City of Lakewood, and further that this Council and Mayor wish him continued years of health, happiness and prosperity in his retirement. SECTION 2. That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Assistant Chief John S. Karliak, 3656 Rockport Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44111, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the eting. Adopted: CLERK / Approved: ~,%~! t~ MAYOR
