RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6598-91 <br /> <br /> BY: Boscia, Gallagher, <br />George, Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Fire Marshall Jack L. Henderson <br />for his public service as a member of the Division of Fire in the <br />City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, upon his retirement, effective May 31, 1991, <br />he has completed more than 27 years of public service with the <br />Division of Fire, City of Lakewood; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in his 20 years of service within the Fire <br />Prevention Bureau, Fire Marshall Henderson has conducted <br />countless fire investigations, most notably the fire at United <br />Methodist Church, which resulted in several arson convictions; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Fire Marshal Henderson was instrumental in <br />promoting the installation of smoke detectors in homes and <br />apartments, resulting in the saving of several lives through <br />early detection; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Fire Marshal Henderson has actively promoted <br />Fire Safety Education in the schools throughout the community, <br />using demonstration programs conducted during Fire Prevention <br />Week each year; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Lakewood Division <br />of Fire, Fire Marshal Henderson has been recognized as a loyal <br />and dedicated employee who rendered outstanding service, not only <br />to the Department of Public Safety, but to the entire community <br />as well; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper <br />service rendered by Fire Marshall Henderson <br />cognizance and recognition; now, therefore, <br /> <br />that the public <br />be given public <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor, extend to <br />Jack L. Henderson its appreciation and that of all the citizens <br />of this community for his more than 27 years of public service <br />as an employee in the Division of Fire of the City of Lakewood, <br />and further that this Council and Mayor wish him continued years <br />of health, happiness and prosperity in his retirement. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
