RESOLUTION NO: <br /> <br />6609-91 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br /> George, Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Director <br />of Public Works to enter into a contract for $20,000 to perform a feasibility <br />study regarding a new water filtration plant. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, three firms have submitted their proposals regarding <br />a feasibility study for a new water filtration plant, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the increased cost of purchasing water from. the City <br />of Cleveland will be effective August l, 1991, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these rates will be further increased on January, 1993; <br />January, 1994; and January, 1995, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS it may be cost effective for the City of Lakewood to <br />own and operate its own water filtration plant; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public WorkS be authorized, <br />and is hereby directed to enter into a contract for $20,000 to perform a <br />feasibility study regarding a new water filtration plant. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions <br />of this Council concerning and relating .to the passage of this Resolution <br />were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such <br />deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted <br />in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance <br />with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof, and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption' <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />P~d en t _~ ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
