RESOLUTION NO. 6628-91 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br /> George, Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Maryann Graham for her reception <br />of the Rensselaer Medal for outstanding achievement in her studies <br />of mathematics and science.. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as an exemplary senior student attending St, <br />Augusine's Academy, Maryann had participated and achieved beyond <br />compare during her first three years, in an honors math program, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Maryann has completed Analysis, Pre-calc and <br />chemistry to a satisfaction whereby the respective department <br />heads along With her guidance counsellor selected Maryann from <br />St. Augustine's as their singular student from 2,200 secondary <br />schools in the United States, Canada and Hong Kong to receive <br />the Rensselaer Medal, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such receipt enables the student to be eligible <br />for a Five Thousand Dollar scholarship for each of four years and <br />opportunity to apply for ten full tuition and ten half tuition <br />scholarships after submission of a five-hundred word essay on the <br />topic of their most creative endeavor to the Polytechnic Institute, <br />and <br /> WHEREAS, Maryann is for the'second successive year the <br />President of her class, is helpful to her peers and others, holds <br />the job of child caregiving outside her academic and fim~ly life <br />and is a gifted artist in the visual arts as well, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council wishes to extend its heartiest <br />congratulations and commendation to Maryann for her receipt of <br />the Rensselaer Medal which brings great pride and honor not only <br />to herself, but to the entire community as well; now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO:~ <br /> <br /> Secti6n 1. That this Council and the Mayor of the <br />CitX of Lakewood, on behalf of all of the citizens of this <br />community, extend to Maryann Graham their commendation for her <br />reception of the Rensselaer Medal for outstanding achievement <br />in her studies'of math and science. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
