RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6629-91 BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br />George, Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Clark Bailey for his reception <br />of the Rensselaer Medal for outstanding achievement in his studies <br />of mathematics and science. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the second ranked student in his senior class <br />at Lakewood High School, Clark has .fulfilled'his school's most <br />rigorous academic curriculum for the first three years there, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as a senior, Clark attends his first two <br />morning classes: advanced placement history and advances placement <br />english.~ then drives in-his car which he purchased for himself <br />out to the campus of Case Western Reserve University where he <br />studies his physics and calculus as part of the Secondary Option <br />program~at Lakewood High School, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Clark's math and science talents have garnered <br />him selection as the high~ school's representative at the Water <br />Science Seminar, the Science Olympics and his spot on Academic <br />Challenge, all indications that a technical profession lies in <br />his future, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~, aside from his academic attributes, according <br />to his counsellor, he has demonstrated those of being kind, <br />thoughtful and perceptive in addition to his holding a job as <br />caddy in his off school hours whereby his love for golf gets <br />excercized, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Rensselaer Medal from the Polytechnic <br />Institute esteems Clark as one of 2,200 other new seniors from <br />the U~ited States, Canada and Hong Kong, all of whom earned <br />eligibility for monetary reward and scholarship in their future, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council wishes to extend its heartiest <br />congratulations and commendation to Clark Bailey for his receipt <br />of the Rensselaer Medal which brings great pride and honor not <br />only to himself but to the entire community as well; now, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor of the <br />City of Lakewood, on behalf of all of the citizens of this <br />community, extend to Clark Bailey their commendation for his <br />reception of the Rensselaer Medal for outstanding achievement <br />in his studies of mathematics and science. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
