RESOLUTION NO. 6643-91 BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br />Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION commending Police Officer Veronica H. Walker <br />for her public service as a member of the Division of Police in the <br />City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Veronica H. Walker was appointed to the Lakewood <br />Police Department as Juvenile Officer on February 18, 1957, and <br />served in that capacity until September 27, 1975 when she interrupted <br />her career for family considerations; was reappointed on January 16, <br />1977, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, throughout her entire career, Policewoman Veronica <br />H. Walker worked as a Juvenile Officer in the Lakewood Police <br />Department Detective Bureau, which service involved working with the <br />youth of the City of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during <br />Police, "Ronnie" Walker <br />the youth and families <br />passionate manner, and <br /> <br /> her tenure with the Lakewood Division of <br />brought great credit to herself by serving <br />of this City in a professional yet com- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Veronica Walker rendered extraordinary devotion to <br />duty in the thoroughness of her investigative work in one of the <br />most publicized cases regarding child molestation in this area, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, throughout her career with the Lakewood Division <br />of Police, Policewoman Veronica H. Walker was a loyal and dedicated <br />employee serving the needs of this community in a special way,'and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Policewoman Veronica H. Walker has <br />effective June 29, 1991, and in consideration of the <br />recognize such outstanding public service; now, therefore, <br /> <br />retired <br />need to <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor extend to <br />Police Officer Veronica H. Walker their appreciation and that of the <br />citizens of this community for her more than 32 years of <br />distinguished public service to the City of Lakewood and further that <br />they wish her continued years of success, health and prosperity. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this <br />Resolution to Police Officer Veronica H. Walker, 1250 Nicholson <br />Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107, and that a copy of this Resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting <br /> <br />Adopted: ~ ?/ /+f/ <br /> <br /> CLERK <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
