PLEASE SUBSTITUTE FOR RESOLUTION NO. 6666-9 <br />originally submitted with this evening's <br />Docket. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO.- 666'4-91 BY: <br /> / <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to honor the Lakewood High School Girls' Cross <br />Country Team for their outstanding performance during the 1991 Cross <br />Country Season. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Girls' Cross Country Team has competed in every <br />State meet since 1984 and the program has developed the reputation as <br />one of the best cross country teams in the State; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this year's Girls' Cross Country Team continued <br />this reputation of excellence by qualifying for the State meet in <br />Columbus on November 2nd; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the State Meet on November 2nd, the Girls' Cross <br />Country Team finished a strong iifth in the field of the seventeen <br />best girls' cross country teams in the State; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, swift'of-feet Lady Rangers Lizzy Roche; Katie <br />Grammes; Becky Hawks; Beth Racy; Jessica Grondolsky; Kirstin Pollock; <br />and Priya Seshan ran with conviction and courage to the finish line; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the fifth place finish by the Girls' Cross Country <br />Team was remarkable against Ohio's top teams for a team that was <br />unranked during the entire season; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by their outstanding athletic accomplishments and <br />good sportsmanship, together with the expert guidance of their <br />dedicated Coach, Rick Ventura, the Lakewood High School Girls' Cross <br />Country Team has brought position, recognition and honor, not only to <br />themselves, but to our entire community; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That we honor the Lakewood High School Girls' <br />'Cross 'Country Team for their outstanding athletic achievement during <br /> the 1991 Cross Country Season. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Section 2.
